Gabrielle is a Producer, Director, Writer with a background in music and classical and modern dance, who has won numerous awards for her short films including festivals such as FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DU CINEMA AU FEMININ in France, the INTERNATIONAL YOUTH FILM FESTIVAL in Portugal and WORLDFEST HOUSTON in the USA. She has had her work short-listed in TROPFEST and screened at film festivals throughout the world.
Gabrielle is currently part of a development team and the Director of a feature film titled THE BREAK-UP SEASON, with Producers MARTIN THORNE from Post-Production Company VANDAL and Producer/Actor JACKI MISON. She has also Co-Written a comedy/drama TV Series, which has interested a major Television Network and and has shot a pilot for it titled ALL OR NOTHING.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Creative Arts at the Queensland College of Art (Griffith University) and Kelvin Grove College (Queensland University of Technology, with a Double degree in Film and Television and Acting, Gabrielle had her third-year short film catalogued at THE CANNES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL by The Australian Film Commission. After the CANNES screening, it was purchased by the RVU Educational Unit in the Netherlands for their curriculum.
Gabrielle has pursued a career in both film and television. She has shot MUSIC VIDEOS, SHORT FILMS, TEASER/PILOTS and TVC’S.One short- JOB FOR THE BOYS, was screened on Qantas Airlines, where it was picked it up for an unprecedented six-month run due to audience request, which exposed the story to an excess of 15 million passengers worldwide. In addition, American Airlines also screened JOB FOR THE BOYS, which was a first for any short film to be screened by them. Gabrielle also produced and directed WHAT YOU NEED, a comedy about a brothel for women, which she entered in the TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL. This resulted in a telephone call from the convener Magali Simard, who bemoaned the fact that although she loved the film, their policy excludes international short films from their competition.
Gabrielle has had MASTER CLASSES in directing with American Powerhouse JUDITH WESTON, Australian Director KATE WOODS and more recently with the highly sought-after Australian Female Director, SHIRLEY BARRETT, on the drama series A PLACE TO CALL HOME.
Gabrielle also has extensive experience in Production Managing FEATURE FILMS and TVC’S and more recently Associate Producing in Reality Television. She is currently teaching at AFTRS (Australian Film, Television and Radio School), specialising in Web Series and Transmedia.
